Why doesnt my registration key work for spore?

i installed the game and entered the code the first time but when it asked me to enter the code found in my email, box/manual, or registry file i would enter it again but when i clicked the continue button the same window would pop up and nothing would happen...Why doesnt my registration key work for spore?
Probably because you illegally downloaded the game.
