Why are some game keys easily hackable and some are impossible?

I've been thinking about how WoW has unhackable CD-Keys unless you want to keep trying all day and sometime come up with some key that works. There is no key-gen for Burning Crusade or Wrath of the Lich King



so why are some games so easily hackable, take for example Spore or The Sims 3. CD-Key generators are readily available before the game is even released!



Why can't companies stop whining and release a game with good encryption like WoW does. Seriously, PC games are too easy to pirate.Why are some game keys easily hackable and some are impossible?

There is possibly no key-gen at all because they are all used, i've been trying on Command and Conquer games but all they tell me is that have banned serials, well just to play online.
Some game companies, like Blizzard, are very protective of games.

It's because you have to pay every month to play WoW. Spore and the Sims 3 are just one time fee things. So I guess EA rules out the hackers like Blizz doesn't, because they don't lose as much money as Blizz would.Why are some game keys easily hackable and some are impossible?

You can't pirate WoW because they check the keys with their online databases. And actually you're wrong. You also need a crack to play the game without the disc, and Spore is very hard to crack also. CD keys will not get you into the game. Game developers have found ways to stop pirates, but sadly the world will stay one step ahead of the security. Some game creators these days are not even trying. Some games now don't even require a serial. The thing is... games are easy to crack, and hack, and pirate. The other thing is... do you really want to do that?

It's not hard to crack a game without the disc. You mount the image and use a typical .exe crack and it's easy.





Blizzard has 12 million subscribers...they've become very good at what they do. They know what keys are out there and they know when you're trying to sit there and try 1,000 times per day to guess the right one. Realistically, they hardly care about the game so much, as they do about you paying monthly.





There's a difference though between most games and WoW. WoW you activate the game online, on THEIR website, on THEIR terms. You can't fake it. You also need to pay monthly to even play it. With most other games that require a serial code, all you need to do is fake an authentication. It's not typically done on a website, under a specific account.





Try hacking a steam game. You won't get far. Steam is VERY good.
